Would the Alpair 12p be a suitable driver for a Karlson enclosure.
If so would the best match be the 6,8 or other.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I can only guess that it will work pretty well in a Karlsonator Six and somewhat larger Karlsonator. XRK971 can examine those with akabak to get reasonable prediction and direction.
That sounds encouraging.
The 6 would certainly suit domestic acceptance better. I have never heard a Karlson but I seem to keep being drawn to building a pair. I have a strange intuitive feeling that I am going to like them!
Would the somewhat larger referred to be the 8?
A simulation of the 6 or 6.5 or 8 would be greatly appreciated if possible.
Thanks for the reply,

Gsd,
I will run a sim of the A12p in a Karlson scaled to a smaller size for you as soon as I get a chance. However, I can say that the Karlson scales poorly for anything below a K12 - there is no bass really below 100 Hz. What you might be interested in to experience the Karlson with smaller drivers is the Karlsonator which can be scaled as small as 0.4x with good results in the bass department. Are you interested in achieving bass extension down to 60 Hz or 40 Hz? Also, the Karlson is really designed for a low Qts driver with high efficiency - like many pro audio drivers.

A12P in scaled Karlson and Karlsontor
The K15 scaled to 8/15x (0.53x) seemed to optimize the response to reduce the peak bass as a result has a bass roll-off that starts at 100 hz. Unless you plan to use with a sub, this is not good. For the Karlsonator, I scaled the original plans by GregB to 12/15x (0.8x) in height and depth and 10/15x (0.67x) in width - this seemed to give the best extension and flatness. It is still a pretty big cabinet at 24 in tall and 10 in wide.
K15 scaled to 0.5x:
Karlsonator scaled to 0.8x in height and depth, 0.67x in width:
I would go with the Karlosonaotr, and if you really want to experience what a K15 is all about, get at 15 in pro audio driver like an Eminence Kappa 15A to experience the visceral gut punch and body slam of kick drums and the like of this:

Thanks for the time and trouble in producing these, I greatly appreciate your help.
Bass response is not too much of an issue as I have a sub with eq, built into the wall which I usually run to around 70 or 80hz.
My original plan was for the alpairs 8 or 9 ltr sealed and use the natural roll off of around 95hz to the sub.
I have become intrigued by the Karlson designs the more I have read and thought maybe I should go for something a little more adventurous.
I am unsure of all of the history of these designs and so was not clearly distinguishing between Karlson and Karsonator. I was actually thinking of Karlsonator when I referred to Karlson 6. Apologies for misleading!
The Karlsonator designs look a little like a tqwp with slot loaded coupling but have the probable advantage of a smaller cabinet. I did also wonder if the K-slot could be used to advantage with a sealed enclosure. Maybe It would be worth building a scaled Karlsonator with a view to trying it with the port closed and the rear chamber stuffed to the appropriate volume in order to try both.
Thanks again for both the simulations and the speedy reply!
Any further thoughts let me know!

The K-slot helps smooth the response and improve polar directivity. On the Karlsonator, it extends bass. I have not used it in a sealed alignment which might be like the "Klam" which Freddi says works really well. Look in the Speaker that Kicks Butt thread, or the Karlson thread. If you are going with a sub, certainly the sealed route may work - you only need the Karlson multi chamber reflex or the Karlsonator TL to get deeper bass.
