I was listening to it and it sounds nice - well at least it sounds as good as my Soundcraftsmen amp and my Threshold, although maybe its my imagination but the Threshold seems to have a tad less bottom end but it seems more controlled. Anyway its too hard to tell.

My question is regarding reliability. In general were SAE amps considered fairly durable and well designed? I picked this up for a great price in its original box, manuals and all. I couldnt refuse it.

Here are a couple pics of the new toy.

Hi Stormrider, the amp does not run hot at all actually. There is a blower fan on the left side which turns quite slowly but forces air across the unit and over the heatsink. The cover is slotted on that side so the hot air just vents out.
