For two years I have been enjoying Doede' 8x's 1543 NOS dac. I built it with separate battery supplies for three of the circuits and a transformer supply with LCLC filtering for the higher voltage and current draw of 8x's 1543 chips.
Over the weekend, I built a Jung Super Regulator and installed it in the DAC. It was a simple installation, had to raise the power supply voltage to accommodate the 5 volt head room required by the regulator.
All in all it improved what is already a very good DAC. Good recordings become more convincing and less electronic sounding. Mid range got better, and less muddled... so a worth while project that cost all of $30.00.
Any comments are welcome...
