Hello
Got hold of about a dozen of these caps from some old Tape Recorders. Just spotted "Jensen" and grabbed them!!! All are 0.1uF 400V...
I am wondering if anyone knows what caps they are. Maybe PiO?
Ext. Foil. are printet on them, and a max 85 degrees temperature. Possible just some Electrolytics then?
they have a "hollow" sound when I tap them on the sides. Dried out perhaps?
Are they any good for audio? They where mostly used around power switches and with the motor switch. (the usual series RC thingy in paralell with a switch...)
Sorry about the bad images, but I had to use my scanner!!!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Stig,
yes, they are definitely paper-in-oil.
Sold by Jensen and also re-branded by AudioNote UK.
Sound nice and smooth. No listening fatigue. A bit boring maybe. A bit colorated, vowel E is a weebit predominant.
Please do not expect a black backgound, they eat up downward dynamic range.

Jensen caps are also rebranded by Balanced Audio Technology or by Jensen for BAT. The description of sound is correct,
I can´t say it better,
