His account is disabled, so yes, he has left. I suppose that 20 years on the forum, where topics quality is deteriorating each day, is a lot.
He probably just said “So long and thank you for all the fish”.
Too many distinguished members left in one year period, though some returned. 🙂
You can't disable your account but kindly ask the mods to do so.
If that was his wish for whatever reason it can't be anything but being respected.
I'll miss his strong opinions and great knowledge.

Disabling your account IMO sends a message, exactly what is a ?, each person would have their own reasons.

Yes, that is too bad but I'm sure he had his reasons. I always enjoyed reading his posts and getting his point of view on matters.
Even though I am a true believer in diversity and I am sorry guys but IMHO he had an agenda with whatever he was posting.
Yes the question was why he left.

Anybody hear anything new? Doesn't look like he was in a big dust up, unless mods cleaned it quietly. Yes he is opinionated but always transparent as far as I could see and very knowledgeable.
Appreciation for his contributions, which often approached a matter from a different viewpoint than the most common. Not the easiest path.
He had good practical knowledge and a down to earth no fuss approach.
He was a moderator here, then down to member, then disabled account, at his request, accept that.
There is no need to speculate about his motives, just wish him good health and peace of mind, those are valuable in an increasingly lonely old age, many people in Europe are single, without family, again not a topic to be discussed at length here.
