Is Pass X1 a good mate for J2?

I am looking for a preamp to go with First Watt J2. I want it to be transparent with details and great sound stage. Is X1 a good choice? How does it compare to newer XP-20? Thanks.

X1 is good choice

I'm not expecting dramatic differences between X1 and XP-20 , except exclusivity

Xp-20 is probably even more detailed , considering greater degree of dual mono structure

Thanks. XP-20 is off my price range now. Guess I will go for X1 then.

Now I used Aleph 30, J2 and M2 in my system. Something I've found is bigger than X1, I meant Parsound JC2 BP if you need a good preamp and more function.

I also have Pass X0.2, too
