Is IRF640 useful..

I think Grey built his Aleph 2 with IRF 640. But then, his amp was water cooled.😉

I know this is not the same thread but I'm gonna aks anyway, because I don't think I should open a new one:
How much power could you get out of IRF640/9640 in AB class operating?
I also have a bunch of them home but can't seem to find any schematics with these fets. Does anyone have some sort of sch? I only found one 75W amp sch.

They should work fine.

How many watts? Depends on the design. I wouldn't
take them above 25 continuous each.

I think they can be used, provided you take in account the limited power handling vs the IRFPs.

They can handle 200V, so they could be used also in Holton's N-channel amp (maybe with 4 fets per side instead of 3 for the same reasons).

If you still don't find a usage for them i can find it for you 😉

neuhold electronic had the smd version (for soldering) for very little money
