I am thinking on building a classic 6BQ5 amplifier just for fun.
While looking for a Dynaco ST-35 kit or perhaps a transformer set I noticed that dynakitparts is out of stock on both.
Looking at the dynakitparts WEB site they seem out of stock on basically everything.
This is a pity.
Does anyone know if there is a path for them to recover and offer product to ship again?
Or perhaps you can suggest a another vendor that can supply a true copy of the ST-35 output and power transformers?

Suggest you call or email them and ask if they have what you want. I recently bought a chassis from them.
It may be partly an issue of keeping the web site up to date.

I have not purchased from them but I had heard that they get transformers in and sell them almost immediately to folks on their waiting list. So, the key is to order and get on the waiting list. I don’t know how long the wait is, but @rayma ’s suggesting to contact them is the way to go if you wish to try to get dynapartskits.
An alternative source of Dynaco Z565 clone output transformer is Musical Power Supply. I purchased a pair that I will try in the near future, and the price is reasonable at under $100 each. Presently I don’t actually know how well the performace was cloned, but physically they look identical to my vintage Z565s. I had heard that Matt has put a lot of effort into analyzing, unwinding and prototyping these transformers, including the 25% UL taps. Look for OT19PP-DYN35-4-8 USA for 4 and 8 Ohm connections like the dynapartskit, or -8-16 like the original z565:

Good idea. Be careful to preserve as much lead length on the transformers as possible when removing them.
You'll need it in the ST35 chassis (get the stainless chassis). The SCA35 is not that good, and is also rather noisy.

I’m getting ready to build an ST-35 clone. Just picked up output and ps boards from Dave’s Store @ Tronola.
Edcor has transformers for the ST35 listed on their site, 4-6 week lead time.

I would suggest that instead of raiding it for the transformers, you give it theDave Gillespie treatment.I’m thinking of gutting out my sca-35 and put them in a new st-35 chassis.

If the SCA35 is modded based on the link posted inthe previous reply, than all those issues are taken care of . What you get then is a high performance integrated that performs on par or better than a stock ST35 and is far more versatile. The compact footprint is also an added advantage.Good idea. What's the partnumber of that transformer ?I’m getting ready to build an ST-35 clone. Just picked up output and ps boards from Dave’s Store @ Tronola.

Not really, the final stage of the sca-35 has the voltage gain about 140. In front of that is a high impedance tone stack. This is the recipe of noise and hum. No matter how hard you optimize that.If the SCA35 is modded based on the link posted inthe previous reply, than all those issues are taken care of .
@Elemental ,
The Edcor transformers seem a nice alternative, but appears not to be a clone output transformer as it “may be larger” and rated for 25 watts out. The MPS transformers I mentioned in post #3 had been, according to my understanding, a deliberate attempt to clone the Dynaco Z565, including interleaving, winding patterns, size etc. Just something to consider in your decision. I have not used either type (yet).

Why not just convert it to an ST-35? You can eliminate or bypass the tone controls, have multiple sources available and maybe even keep the phono if you like. You can use Dave Gillespie's boards but get the ST rather than the SCA power amp boards. I think they have the same footprint.I’m thinking of gutting out my sca-35 and put them in a new st-35 chassis.
BTW, I have a pair of the MPS Z565 copies. They have the identical footprint. I haven't used them yet but I know he did a lot of work to get it as close as possible to the Z565 performance. I think it says Rev17 on the label.
I don’t have turn table. I probably won’t have turn table in the future. I just prefer the looking of st-35 that the tubes are visible. Why not just convert it to an ST-35? I also tend to use Dave’s sca board to convert that to dynaco st-70’s circuit to drive 6bq5 tubes. For me, the st-70 circuit is much better than the original st-35 circuit.
