For the IRFP244 mosfet, anyone has experience with Fairchild's version (TO-3P) and the IR's own (TO-247)?
Any preferences to one or the other?
The Fairchild substitute is much cheaper at Mouser.

No preference. On the P channel devices, there is a
preference for Fairchild in Common-Source applications.
Same goes for Harris parts.

I donno, I have built a few of the Pass Labs Designs including an Aleph 5, Aleph P v1.7, Son of Zen and Aleph X100 (Amp works but chassis is not done yet). They all work extremely well and I have used IRF Mosfets. I think that Nelson uses both IRF and Fairchild Mosfets. I don't think it makes much of a difference.
