IIRC the KA78T class was just your run of the mill to-220 positive voltage regulator, Just about any 7812 will fit the bill Id bet, unless they were really sourcing 3 amps from that little guy!

I couldn't find anything but there are several manufacturers and they all use different prefixes. Using only 78T12 may help when searching.
I don't generally like to see anyone buy electronic components from eBay but the following seller seems to be OK (from what I've heard from those who have purchased items from them).
