The IRAUDAMP7D reference design uses the 5-pin dual MOSFETs. The reference design shows scalability upto 250Wrms/8E.
I was wondering, if replacing the IRFI4020H-117P in the AMP7D-200 with one pair of IRFB4127 will enable 500Wrms/4E, 1000Wrms/2E and 1000Wrms/8E-BTL options.
If this has already been tried, are there any mods to the AMP7D-200 design, except maybe the current limit setting?
Can IRS2092 drive only one pair of IRFB4127 directly or do I need to use a gate driver?
As always, thanks in advance for your time and efforts in sharing your rich experience!!

Hi,without buffers IRS2092 cannot drive more than 2nF gate capacitance and about 35nC gate charge you can make totem pole with some SOT223 2.5A NPN+PNP emitter follower and then you cand drive one or 2 pairs of IRFB4127 at 400 Khz with no problems
IRAUDAMP7D with one pair of IRFB4127
Thanks for your reply.
I will add buffers/ gate drivers similar to that outlined in IRAUDAMP9.
Based on the low (4 times) RdsON and almost 6 times the current capacity of IRFI4020H-117P, do you think that power levels that I have estimated can be met by using only one pair of IRFI4127?
Thanks again!!
