i have a pair of mtx audio 10s i want to build a bandpass to put in my suburban i want to tune it for all music i love rock and my wife loves contry and rap. can someone please help me design a box? i bought 3 sheets of 5/8 mdf and have everything im stuck and am going to fail doing this myself
Relocated to car audio since this is a car subwoofer related thread.You won't get much of an advantage of a bandpass if it's designed for 'all' music. With a bandpass, you can design for a peak where it will be strong at one point in the spectrum. That's sometimes OK for rap and similar music. For all music, you have to design for a wider frequency spectrum and this will reduce the gain of the bandpass enclosure (compared to the peaky design).
If you can find the owner's manual for the woofers, it should have recommended enclosures.
