So the kids are almost out of the house, I'm tired of working for someone else, I haven't seen a decent hi-fi/music store in decades, and I can get a storefront at a very reasonable rent.
I plan on opening the world's coolest music store. Vinyl, turntables, styluses (styli?), vacuum tube gear (new and vintage)as well as a few selected lines of new audio gear, collectible radios, used CD's,VHS, laserdiscs,DVDs,etc. are all definites.
My kids are into guitars, so used guitars, amps, strings, pickups etc. are other possibilities.
While they're in enjoying the ambience, I'll offer them remote controls, batteries, cables, connectors, blank tapes, CD's, and other commodities. I know I may not be able to compete pricewise with the chains, but I feel they'll buy if they're in there.
I plan on running low powered AM and FM transmitters and broadcasting throughout our small downtown area. So what if the FCC shuts me down? It would be great publicity while it lasts.
The trick is to have enough volume in small commodites to support the slower moving stuff.
Does anyone have a similar store in their area? What sort of other items do they carry?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks!
Lee
