Hello,
I want to use a 125ASX2 in BTL mode to power my subwoofer from my AVR via Chinch (unbalanced). However, from what I've read this requires a board.
Now I am wondering: Can I purchase this board somewhere? I can't be the only one in need for something like this 🙂
As you can tell by the question: I am a layman. I feel confident connecting a few wires (even with 230V) but not designing a whole PCB.

You can buy the ICEpower 50ASX2BTL board from Parts Express in the US, or Profusion in Europe -
https://www.parts-express.com/ICEpo...wer-Supply-Module-1-x-170W-326-214?quantity=1
https://gb.profusion.uk/uk/icepower50asx2-btl
Don't buy from eBay - I did, and the board failed to power up.
I trust you realise that in mono BTL mode the ICEpower's input is differential, so if your subwoofer output is single-ended you will need a SE-to-differential converter board. You can source this from many different places, but if you buy the Ghent RTX module -
https://www.ghentaudio.com/products/rtx.html?VariantsId=10801
then you can conveniently buy a suitable aluminium enclosure for your amplifier at the same time -

I hope you understand the principles of mains wiring and safety. If nothing else, please ensure the earth inlet is connected to the Ghent chassis, preferably the floor of the chassis, with the anodised surface sanded away to ensure a good connection.I feel confident connecting a few wires (even with 230V)
... or just make your life easy, and buy the Fosi V3 Mono amplifier -
https://fosiaudio.com/products/fosi-audio-v3-mono-power-amplifier?variant=45168133636326
with 48V/10A power supply it will cost US$180, so slightly cheaper than building a 50ASX2.

I am probably not seeing it, but doesn't have the 50ASX2BTL far less power than the 125ASX2 in BTL mode (170W vs 450W @4Ohm)?You can buy the ICEpower 50ASX2BTL board from Parts Express in the US, or Profusion in Europe -
And from what I've read the 50ASX2 has a dedicated BTL board whereas for the 125ASX2 simply has "BTL" mode (where one input has to be inverted). And I might be mistaken, but doesn't it have unbalanced inputs already? Do I still need the RTX module for the 125 ASX2?
Also thanks for the safety tips 🙂
Sorry, 125ASX2 here -
https://gb.profusion.uk/uk/icepower125asx2
and the Ghent case -

Regarding single-ended inputs, I will check the documentation later when I am home, but I suspect that in BTL mode the 125ASX2's input should be differential.

125ASX offers a BTL mode and for this it provides a differential input possibility but it requires that one of the input is polarity reversed. This needs an active board to achieve (or a traf.).

This active board is what I am looking for 🙂This needs an active board to achieve (or a traf.).
The RTX board linked to in post #2.
Powered by the +/-24V Aux from the main amplifier.
Many similar boards available from the usual sources.

Ah now I see. Because creating a balanced output is basically inverting one channel - so obvious in hindsight. The RTX board linked to in post #2.
thanks you guys 🙂
Would you mind telling me a "usual source" in Europe? Many similar boards available from the usual sources.
Or are you referring to Aliexpress?
If you search eBay and AliExpress for "unbalanced to balanced board" you will find many options, including a basic NE5532 board for the ridiculous price of 3 Euros -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/175310519541
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006578140837.html
But if you decide to order the Ghent case I would also order their "RTX" board, because $30 is not expensive, and I think the Ghent supplied cable kit should be plug-in ready.
Update: I see Audiophonics in France has 3x versions, from 10 Euros to 20 Euros.

Any of these should be able to do the job:

You wan't to hook up the mono single-end signal from the AVR to one of the single-end inputs, i.e. L. Then you want to feed Vin Ch1 on the 125ASX2 with the Cold output of the corresponding diff L out and the Vin Ch2 with the Hot output of the diff L out.
