I seriously need help with 3D modeling

Hi All. I am working on a very large metal sculpture with the center focus of a 3D copper head of Freda Kahlo. I want to make the head with a steel core structure with metal rod bent to match the “slices” if her head in what would become 3” layers, top to bottom.

I need help from someone to 3D model her head from a number of photographs, then pull out the individual slices which I can blow up and bend the rod to match.

I’ll the weld the rods to the metal infrastructure and cover the rod structure with copper.

Does this make sense? Thanks guys.

You can read about the techniques used for the Statue of Liberty, and the (Indian) Statue of Unity.

What you are describing is a metal scaffolding / support structure, to which covering plates / sheets are fastened / welded.

You can use a ring / cylinder, with different side rod lengths to make up the contour, then attach the 'face'.

3D, ask if it can be done in Corel Draw, or the programs / apps from AutoCad, Siemens Unigraphics, Dassault Systemes, or their competitors.
These are common here, your area may have similar programs from other suppliers.
Basically a 2D to 3D conversion, not too difficult.

Good idea about going to the local university - University of New Mexico. I have the substructure worked out and if it was just a face from my imagination this wouldn’t be a problem. But duplicating a known person is a bit tricky to get it right.

A resemblance is acceptable, duplicating in detail is difficult...who will climb to the top, and how?
That depends a lot on the person seeing it, ...Picasso and Van Gogh paintings are not appreciated by everybody.
Some will say a zit is missing, some will say no need for so much detail.

This is a pretty normal assignment for budding sculptors, part of their training.

In any case, it is part of the sculpture course at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the M S University of Baroda, my city.
It is world famous, I am not kidding.
So, ask at the university if sculpture is taught there, or at another convenient location.

Copper will tarnish, use a material like 945 stainless, or bronze.
