Hi,
Im gonna use two ucd 180 modules in a portable speaker powered with a battery delivering 45V DC nominal.
I have connected it like this, without ground. Still the amplifier is dead, no sound.
I have also tried with - and ground together.
Any tips?
Thank you, Simon.

It looks like you need a dual supply. If the supply is 45 volts in total (as measured between the two fuses) then you need two series connected 24 volt batteries (giving 48 volts) and using the centre point as ground. So you get a minus 24 and plus 24 volt rail as referenced to ground.

Ahh, like this?

Hi ...
Cheers,
Jesper
... from looking at the diagram in your post #1 I would say yes. I would just make sure that the voltages (+/- 24 volts) are within the range usable by the UCD180 ... It is not +/- 45 VDC? I am not familiar with the specs for the UCD180 ...Ahh, like this?

Yes like that (except you have the writing on your diagram back to front 😉)

Its ratet at +/- 55 VDC max. +/- 25 VDC minimum
Thanks 🙂
Mooly, tanks, and yes, i was a little fast with the drawing :😛
Edit: looks like i may need another set of batteries to get high enough voltage on each rail...

It would be better to either rip the power supply out of an old car amplifier or just buy one like this...
