I just put this little amp together. NC252MP board stuffed into an old 1950's radio chassis. I had someone bend up the aluminum U, and then just assembled everything. Haven't done any serious listening, but sounds pretty good so far!

I have a question about the Hypex NCore standby connectors.
My NC122MP's standby connectors are connected directly (No switch between), and amp's main switch turns on/off the amp. I hear a little thump when it's turned off, and I wonder if this configuration would damage or add stress to the NCore module, or it's perfectly ok?

I'm definitely no hypex expert. This is the only one I have done.
But what I do is just power the amp on/off just with switch to the AC power.
I did insert a switch in the Vout(enable) to the PS enable input pin. So I have the option of putting it into standby if I want to. But generally I just leave that enabled all the time, and use the main AC switch to turn it on.
I do hear a tiny sound when I turn the amp on either way, but it's very minor and I wouldn't quite call it a thump. Maybe a mini-bump is all.
I doubt either configuration would harm anything (mains AC switch, or using standby), but hypex is pretty responsive with questions, so I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them if you have a concern about it.

Anchan, thank you for your reply. I realized that the sensitivity of the speakers currently connected to the amp is 101dB, so it should not be thump with most of the speakers. My modules are installed on the ol' dirty hard drive case, but I would love to get a nice enclosure like yours. Happy Holidays!
