Hurricane Maria, again, 2 weeks after Irma...

Up till today the American computer models put it thru Puerto Rico, crossing the entire island and maybe by that time, Wednesday, a category 4 hurricane. Irma only brushed the island along its north coast and with its strong winds and rain in the north east quadrant. This one is another beast and we have not seen a hurricane like this since 1932. So, we are really bracing ourselves. There is still a possibility, according to some European models that it will shift to the north in the next 12 hours when it starts to hit the lesser Antilles and will pass us along the north east of the island. And, it will hit other islands that got the full 185 mph winds of Irma. It seems that there is no threat to FL.

Well, as you might already know we took the hurricane, -cat 5 when it entered thru the southesast corner and center north of the island-. Total devastation, no electricity for months surely.... lot of destroyed buildings and houses..... In my house nothing happened of importance other than water sipping in. At least I have water service.... You cannot really know what a 150 mph wind feels like until you experiment it, lot of different frightening noises, even musical some of them. Lot of flying objects...Right now I am at my daughter's work place using their WIFI... I am sure that you all have read and seen the effects of the hurricane on the island in the mainland press... lot of FEMA and even Homeland security assistance and help. President Trump has declared the island and the US Virgin Islands that was also struck.. -2nd hurricane in two weeks as Irma devastated the Virgin Island and also affecte PR as it went along the north coast..- as a disaster zone fit for full federal assistance... so pray for us...

The Burnsday storm put up the best show in 1990.

Wasn't that Hurricane Ofelia which landed in Ireland last week, killed 3, floods and power outages? Back here in San Juan, Puerto Rico, still recovering from María and after almost 5 weeks no power in 80% of the Island and no water in 10%.....Lot oh people lost houses and everithing else. Wind gusts were measured at 215 mph in its path.
