I bought a used 2 channel receiver, but it has a hum when I turn on the volume high. The unit sounds very clear otherwise. Some owners have noticed the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to minimize the hum?, what are the basic things?
I will try to move the receiver away from the other components and will try the different wall outlet.

One channel, or both. If it is in both, it's likely a power supply issue. Weak caps, dying pass transistor, bad solder joint...
