Some months back during the PE sale I got the HSU 12" subwoofer driver and then also got hold of HSU VTF-3 plate amplifier. Now planning to build a sealed sub only for the purpose of music and pairing with my Troels TQWT MKII speakers. Here is the link to the driver - HSU Research PF-12100LPV 12" Subwoofer
Was looking at some build plans either official HSU ones or diy ones which can do good for music. Any suggestions or pointers are welcome and I am first time builder of a sub by the way even though built different set of bookshelves or floor standers earlier including the Troels.
Thanks

What size are you planning to make?
PE site says F3 = 61 Hz for 0,74 ft^3 sealed. For me that should not be low enough for music.

The specs for that driver suggest that it was designed for a vented alignment.
Thanks guys, yes PE site says use a vented box for better F3. But not sure if a vented box works best for music only purpose. As Troels TQWT seems to be good for lows just that last bit of base is what I am targetting without overwhelming them.
A vented box should be fine for that purpose.
Thanks Brian, any suggestion for the box dimensions as I am not well versed with the box designs but usually follow the published models. I can handle box build fairly well considering I have built some Frugal Horns and Jericho horns earlier. Let me know some good plans to read and follow the cabinet build.
Here are some results in WinISD.
50 L sealed
100 L vented
100 L 6th order BP
enough reason not to go for a sealed box imho.
Thanks let me see the 100 L 6th order BP. Need to learn the WINISD tool to design the box 🙂
