Hi does anybody know how many watts the richard allan Hp8B's can handle, they seem to bottom out very easily 18 watts makes them crack very loudly with bass transients. I thought maby 30 watts rms but the compliance is very soft. I had the bass reflex boxes designed for the parameters of this speaker. Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

The answer is not a lot thermally as it has a lightweight coil. High efficiency
also means it willl not take much power to max out the excursion in the
bass, which for fullranges (e.g. Fostex's) is usually very limited.
Low maximum levels (in the bass) are a fact of life for 8" high efficiency
full rangers which can only be got round by some form of two way set up.
