I just bought a HP 204c Oscillator off of Ebay. I want to do a quick test just to make sure its working. It didnt come with a manual. So... Can I just hook it up to a stereo speaker and turn it on?
Otherwise, whats the easiest way to test it?
You should see 5Vrms output with an AC voltmeter if the output level control is advanced to max and frequency is set anywhere within the voltmeter's capability. If you have a small tube amplifier output transformer, you could use it as an ad-hoc speaker matching transformer. It won't be loud -- output power is only 10mW max.
I dont THINK I have the rechargeable battery version...
But I did hook up a DMM and it did read 5V True=RMS with the amplitude knob all the way at max...
