I have a Dukane 670 with a 575w MH bulb and I am trying to figure out if the bulb is just dead or the whole thing went out. It was running fine (did not notice any dimming of light outpout) and all of a sudden 'click' nothing...no lights no fan and no power comming from the socket on the side. I know there is a gap in the metal halide bulbs so looking at the bulb doesn't help me. Are the fans still supposed to run even if the bulb is out? Tested the fuse with a continuity tester and it is ok. Anything else I can test to see if it still works short of buying a new bulb and sticking it in? Thanks!!

Remove bulb and power it up. Shine a very bright torch or floodlight through and see if there is an image.
metal halide bulbs dont just go click and die
only halogen does that, metal halide slowly goes dimmer and dimmer untill it shows no output, this diming process doesnt happen in 2 minutes- happens over 1000s of hours

Sounds to me like a blown fuse or a broken switch or something. The fans would still operate even with a dead bulb, and you would see arcing in the bulb as the control gear tries to light it
