i ran across a formula lately but idont know what some of the symbols are.

Vb = 20*Qts^3.3*Vas
Fb = (Vas/Vb)^0.31*Fs
F3 = (Vas/Vb)^0.44*Fs
dBpeak = 20*LOG (Qts*(Vas/Vb)^0.3/0.4)

In this one i cant figure out what * means, (Vas/Vb) means, ^ means, what do those symbols mean, icant figure it out Plz Help

#### f4ier

/ means division
^ means to the power of or the power operator

How Would you put ^ into a scintific calculator

#### f4ier

Look for x with a superscript y (or x with a y on top of it). Otherwise you'll have to look it up in your calculator's manual.

Alternatively, if you happen to be using Windows 9x, you should have the handy Calculator in your Start | Programs | Accessories menu. Load Calculator, click on the View menu then select Scientific mode. To enter, say, 2 to the power of 3, you simply press:

2 then the button x^y then 3 and then press Enter key or = to get the result.

If you would like to see your design's theoretical performance, plug the numbers in any of the following free software

winISD Pro -- www.linearteam.dk
Unibox -- www.danbbs.dk/~ko/ubmodel.htm
Subwoofer Simulator -- www.geocities.com/f4ier/subsim.htm

hth and good luck
