Last time, reading specialted press I notice a lot of manufacters they use standard cdrom in many cd players. My idea is to use one of this for my project.Any suggestion or link to control the unit from the ide bus? controls, display, etc.
Thanks.
I wonder?
The electronic they connect to the CDROM, is it only to control the CDROM? The electronic don’t have anything to do with the audio signal?
I’m more interested in the electronic for the audio connected to the IDE port on the CDROM. Is there any links on Internet who is recommended?
If you only use the spdif you can’t get sacd or mp3 and so on out. I’m interested to use the CDROM for these formats. To get this information I think you need to use the IDE connection and have some electronic to get out a digital signal to your DAC you have outside. Am I right?
Cdrom drives won't read sacd disks, afaik different wavelength laser, and sacd material is encrypted as well, making the decoding operation non trivial. Chips for doing this are not available to the general public due to copyright concerns.
