Hello, currently in the beginning of the design phase for a 3way tower mimic the Wilson audio Watt/puppy. The HF/MF enclosure with be SB acoustics SB15NRXC30-8 midwoofer, and SB29RDC-C000-4 tweeter. Where I’m looking for a little input is on the bass drivers. alum/mag cones make for great pistons hence the m6a. however, the l6-6r build quality and materials look like an interesting choice as well. I have no experience with either of these drivers so please feel free to comment.

thanks

My personal preference would be to use the m8a because I don’t like Subwoofers unless its HT. however, the WAF of a deep but more narrow enclosure is a restriction I’m dealing with so double 6” – 6.5” drivers are in limits. But thanks for the quick response!

My design initially uses the mag driver, but if the L series (both priced very similar from Solen) were better performers I’d be swayed to change. As it’s a bass driver I figured the midrange qualities from the Kevlar based cones would be a moot point, and the mag cone would be the smart choice unless the motor structure etc was of better value in the L-series.
