Was wondering what specifications a Single Ended transformer would have for a 450TL ?
I'm thinking 145 watts class A-1, with 2500 volts to 3000 volts. The transformer would probably be rated for 4KV @ 175 watts perhaps?
I was more interested in the Plate load resistance?
Thoughts, ideas?

With a mu of 18 and 5mA/V transconductance (at 500mA, 4kV), I calculate the plate impedance to be about 3k6. So an OPT north of 10k primary impedance.

But good for "only" 160mA and 2kV.

Realize that the plate voltage reaches 2 X the B+ voltage in normal (unclipped) operation of an SE amp into a purely resistive load. It will go considerably higher into a reactive speaker load, and much higher if the amp is pushed into clipping into a speaker load. I once measured peaks in the 2500 volt range in an amp with a B+ of 430 volts. Yes, this was a guitar amp cranked beyond 11, but "stuff" happens. Was wondering what specifications a Single Ended transformer would have for a 450TL ?

That's the OPT in my Midlife Crisis 833C amps. Each OPT weighs about 60lbs! Plate voltage 2300V at 160mA.
Monolith sent me a picture of the internals while they were building them, with virgin teflon interwinding insulation and double-C amorphous core...that's an ECC83 tube next to it for reference.
They sound excellent, BTW.
