On this amp I'm not getting the +15 volts on the opamps..

I checked the 7815 and it tests good

I also checked the 7805 and that tests good..

On the output leg of the 7815 and the 7805 in getting -1.02 volts

Any ideas what might cause this or where to check?

I've been checking components and everything is testing fine

What is the input voltage to the 7815?

Do you have about 20v on either side of the large resistor that feeds the 7815?

Yes I have 27 volts on 1 side of it

The other side I have -0.50

Is it within tolerance?

Is it really hot?

It appears to be defective

It's marked L1 on the board

The L prefix means that it's an inductor.

Do you happen to know the value of it?

The color bands are yellow ,purple,black,silver

Ok that's what I thought ..

I will Replace it and see if the voltage comes back

I have the smaller package style 47uh inductors will they work or only work for testing ?

You can try it but it's likely to burn out. The larger one can likely handle much more current.

If you have a 1/4w, 1 ohm resistor, you can use that temporarily.

I used the smaller package style for testing and the 15 volts is back ..

I will order the correct package size ..
