Hi Allen

Welcome to the diY Audio Forum.🙂 🙂 I found a you tube for you showing some repair of your sony am/fm receiver. Kitchen Table Electronics Repair: Sony STR-DH100 Stereo Receiver - YouTube

ideally you may need a schematic, that assists location and layout. Bob Pease (dec) has provided us with a good general start too, from his book Troubleshooting Analog Electronics, and you can read his wonderful outlook ( a bit of it anyway ) here.
Troubleshooting Analog Circuits - Robert A. Pease - Google Books

and of course ask questions right here at DiY Audio

Cheers / Chris

thanks

hi thank you, that utube is about a cracked board ona sony strdh100,i had mine working yesterday..for a shor time..but i could feel the transistors heating up to much ,i thought it was gonna blow a fuse so i shut it off,id replaced all of them, seems thats what usually goes out first on the sony stereos..ive been swapping parts from a old sony strdh100,,my soldering iron seems to heat up too much.its a walmart special..i either have too little heat or too much heat..im still trying to hone my skills..and get back to repair, takes time to get the skills back, but i will slowly but surely!
