First of all ... i have not built any amplifiers from scratch. I have an old Lafayette solid state amp that I know nothing about exept its 32 years old. I dont like the sound of it. I was reading on this forum and found a few people moding old amps with new gear to make them sound great. I have this old console TV that has an amp in it that sounds great. I want to extract the amp and use it to power a pair of small speakers. The only info I have on the TV is that its a GE and its big and old.
I have hooked the amp from the TV to my modified RS LX5's. It sounds great!! It appears that the amp section of the TV is seperate from the tunner section. Does anyone know if I pull this board out how hard is it going to be to get it to work. The volume is controled from the front panel via push button...its sorta inagrated into the channel selector. ???
