I'm a recent owner of the Panasonic XR 57 AVR. I like this piece, it works well and was cost efficient.
Panasonic didn't show any new AVR's this year at CES. I may own the last of breed. All of my old analogue equipment was separates consisting of a gain control/source switch and amps. HT is a bit more complex as I have learned, now I need an extra layer 5.1 of processing before the amps.
My question is; is there a cost efficient gain /source/processor that outputs a pcm (or similar) digital signal and separate digital amps that will accept it?
