Hello all.
My name is Clark, I am a Service Engineer and have been heavily into Audio since i was young.
I made the mistake of buying a set of 104/2's about 5 years ago, and it has cost me a fortune 🙂 Since upgraded to an Audiolab 8000s amp and got my original philips 723 cd.
I am looking for a new project to get my teeth into, and considering either building a dac, and tapping into the i2s from the cdm12 transport in the 723 Or building a pair of dual mono amps and using the 8000s as a pre-amp.
Hmmmmm...maybe both 🙂
Anyway im waffling on a bit, good to meet a group of like minded souls Who have spent all their money on hifi.....

Welcome aboard! We try not to spend all our money on Audio, that's why we DIY. But it does seem to work out that way. 😉
Hi Clark,
Welcome to diyAudio.. Lots of cool stuff here. Check out digital sources - there are always interesting projects going on, things like; adaptive usb interfaces, ASRC, and dacs of course.
Be sure to check out the stuff from Twisted Pear Audio as an alternative as well.
I actually find I spend more money designing and building my own stuff in some instances, but OTOH I usually end up with something that fits my needs near perfectly.
A monthly "allowance" keeps my spending to something manageable.. 😀
