2day is my first day in the forum. I'm rather confused as 2 how 2 start, so i am posting this message. I am interested in home-theater systems, transistor amplefiers, subwoofers, surround decoders..................
Welcome! I've only been a member for a few months now, but I've learned more about DIY in these last few months than I ever thought I would, many of the people on here are insanely knowledgeable and would be more than happy to help, but some information is gonna be required first.
I spose a good place to start would be where your greatest weakness in your system is, I'd assume bass since you've posted in this section. In any case, be it a subwoofer, amp, loudspeaker, etc. you really need to figure out how much you want to put into this, especially money and time, as well as what you want to get out of it (movie/music performance) which will vary depending on the room to be used in, as well as the equipment to be used with it. If you list some more information I'm sure we can help you out a bit more.
Also be sure to think about your skills in a particular area, especially woodworking for speakers, and electronics for crossovers, amps, anything you may want to build...
