I am restoring a crossover replacing a set of Callins CX electrolytic crossover capacitors in a set of EPI speakers. I am going to use Nichicon Muse bipolar capacitors and several people have mentioned the Muse ES bipolar caps. However, I see that Nichicon makes a crossover-specific capacitor called by some the BP.GB capacitor or the "BP-S" capacitor. I was wondering if anyone has test the BP-S capacitor vs an ES capacitor?
My experience with the regular Nichicon's was they seemed lean. Elna bi-polars are super cheap ($1 for 4.7uF 100V) , so I'd encourage you to try a couple and see if you can hear any difference at all.
Best,
Erik
