Being new to this forum I'd like to introduce myself. I've been busy constructing and selling d.i.y. audio kits for 35 years. In the Netherlands (Holland) we meet a lot of people thinking about improvement of audio and sometimes someone has a bright idea! On our site (www.audio.nl) we have a forum dealing with problems and solutions in audio.
Time and time again I have the feeling that electronics did and does a lot of bad things on the perception of music. After listening to a good mechanical reproduction (Edison around 1920!) one always wonders! My personal opinion is that there still is a long way to go perfectioning the way we reproduce music. Thankfully a lot of amateurs and engineers provide us with new ways to go.

I'm going to replace my ceiling with 25mm MDF and cover it in down firing 15inch subwoofers... I just need some money to get started.... If I won like a million $$, thats one thing I would do.. for sure.. lol
