Getting iPhone to charge while in dock

I am building a little speaker setup for my iPhone. I am having my iPhone sit in a docking station with a 3.5mm line out and a charger port on the back. It looks like this:

I am using a 3.5mm to RCA cable to hook the dock up to my amp (lepai 2020). I want the iPhone to be able to charge while in the dock playing music so I was wondering how I go about doing so. The 3.5mm line won't give it charging power. I only want to have 1 wall plug...is there anyway to tap into the power line that the amp is getting and have it power the charger? It is the charger wire that comes with the dock, it looks like this:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I was thinking maybe snip off the USB plug and tap into the power line for the power source wires for the amp.

Thoughts?
