Fulla 2 has an AKM4490, but doesn't support past 24/96?

So I noticed that the Fulla2 came out today, and that it's using an AKM4490, which supports extremely high samplerates as well as DSD. Now why limit this by not using something like XMOS? Are the costs really that much higher?

Schitt doesn't believe that DSD is worth their time (and they killed the only DSD addon device they created). The original Fulla was designed to be driverless, and it appears that they are going the same way with this one.
