Looking at a build that will work on a bookshelf/media wall. I have considered two ways traditional speakers like the Ergo IX or Excite Relevation Monitor Mk2 but wondered if there was a full range that would rival these?
So as said, needs to work close to wall/in bookshelf firing straight out (no toe in), max volume is around 12 lites ( replacing Yamaha HS7 so similar size) and ideally does not need a subwoofer. Will be driven by Naim Atom / Nad M10 / Lyngdorf TDAI1120 / Eversolo DPM-A6 + F2 or similar, used for both music and TV in UK lounge (20ft x 12ft with 8.5ft ceiling firing across the short axis). And budget similar to the 2 Ways listed which is about £750-1000 for drivers and crossovers.
I know the requirements are a compromise but any suggestions on a full range (with shaping filter?) speaker that can do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yamaha HS7
Mark Audio A7/11ms fits 9 litres, asdo many MA 4”.
Pluvia 7HD https://frugal-horn.com/downloads/centre/dPlu-Ken7hd-centreB-0v8-240123.pdf
They all have the same format. Can be rotated if necessary. These are CGR derivatives, there are a bunch of those too.

Lots of other possibilities.
Pushed up against the wall you might get too ,much bass boost, the slot can convienientlybe stuffed with open-cel foam to push (further) aperiodic with less bass gain.

Ugg10,
Not single driver wideband (aka full range) speakers, but with your budget, worth having a look:
https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/loudspeakers/audio_first_fidelia/
https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/loudspeakers/ascilab_c6b/
The Audiofirst Fidelia is slightly smaller than the Yamaha you have and comes as a full kit that you have to assemble - my understanding is that they are based in the UK. The website has the kit listed at GBP 950 for a pair of speakers.
The Ascilab C6B is a fully finished product, and a couple of inches taller than the Yamaha HS7.

Thanks both, will look into those.
The Fidelia looks similar to Jeff Bagby’s Revolution which also gets good reviews and we’re on my list. They also seem to be similar to the Revel M106 as well which measure well too and use the NBAC SB drivers which are almost identical to the CAC used in those linked..

2025 Spring time bump. Talk to me about price, noting that I also have a fully built pair of speakers available too.
I have Alpair 5.2 x 2 (6.8ohm) in 10L with a port tuned to fb 60+ Hz and against a wall they have a just a moderate bloom.Lots of other possibilities.
Care needs to be given not to drive them loud due to the limited cone excursion. As I built my own amp I have overcome this by placing a cap across the resistor (same value as NFB Re) in the input stage to make a high-pass filter at 47Hz which aslo reduces smear in the higher regions for a very clear sound matching seriously high-end nearfield monitors (I'm considering publishing both cabinet / amp schematic or even make some PCBs if I can assitance with the latter).

implemenration is a key to good sound
this is a very sophisticated design

its not mine but a documented story about a complex filter for a fullrange showing the benefit of this work
No'full range" will rival a decent two way.
Under what circumstances?
I wouid not agree at all. I’ve heard a lot of 2-ways and lots of FRs. Different compromises. If i had to choose some Alpair 10.2 MAOP (or maybe the as yet unseen M11ms).
For me a decent 2-way is a good 3” FR and woofer support. XO ≤ 500 Hz.

Here someone dsp ed them to main listening position and declares it sound like nothing else because of low distortion and lots of lifelike headroom

The OP wants a 12 litre bookshelf speaker. 🙄I have these fine fullranges.

Not currently on my desktop. There is this one from the diy fest. They would work well in as a bookshelf. Still gonna need a sub to fill in the bottom octaves thou.Post a picture of your dMar-Kens Jeff ;^)

Hi Ugg10,
You wrote that you are interested in a small-volume shelf box. Please, these are measurements with SWR 145/A drivers in a 14 liter box. For SWR 175/A drivers, a 24 liter box is required.
You might to know that I also have a full-range Fiel Coil SWR 175/FC speakers. These speakers are designed to reproduce a wide range of frequencies, usually from low to high frequencies in a single speaker. You can use them in 4 variations.

If you want a proper stereo stage, you need to sit in the middle. This is true not only for full-range driversm but for all acoustics.
