How do you know these are genuine?

All the 200pcs packs I have been able to acquire recently were rebadged Fairchild devices. Search for related threads here to see pix. FYI.

Its quite easy to visually inspect the 2Sk170 the Toshiba original ones have a clear dimple on the back, the Fairchild ones have a letter protruding in the dimple also the mould break line on top is centered on the Toshiba it is off to the side on the repackaged Fairchilds. Of course you can just measure IDSS the Fairchild devices have a much lower IDSS and their pinch voltage is higher.

Mouser still have some 2SK170 genuine Toshiba's available,

The photos below are from the mate the 2sj74 and the fake is a relabeled Fairchild J177

You can be don´t worry 🙂. In the some years ago I bought only genue semiconductors of Toshiba, Hitachi and NEC directly from reliable sources from Japan. I think that my supplier is not reliant to sell any fakes.

I do not see any in stock at Mouser.

Mouser doesn't have 17000 on order.

If they have any on order, you will see an estimated delivery date, and not "non-stock call for quote".

Thanks Patrick, I speak to them 3 - 4 times a week 🙂 , Currently I don't need any 2SK170 I have about 5000 on hand, looking for about 3000 of the 2SJ74BL as I have a stock in-balance I use them in complementary pairs only.

PBN builds Borbely jfet designs like I do which use lots of 2SK 170 and 2SJ74 jfets. So yes he needs a lot of 2SJ74
