I want to learn how to measure and calculate basic Thiele Small parameters and test the frequency response for individual drivers using Audio Tools SPL Pro on my iPhone, a signal generator on my PC, an IMM6 calibrated microphone, a multimeter and test resistors. I understand how to setup the test scenario for 1W at 1 Meter but I'm not sure if I should use A or C weighting within SPL Pro or no weighting at all. I would appreciate specific advice on weighting and any pointers on the test setup.
There are several applications and methods out there!
All you need is a resistor, signal generator, voltmeter and some weight's or a sealed box of known size, I don't know of any apps that use a phone although there may be one out there some where.

There are also several threads in this forum on this subject as well, search for REW, SimpleS, Visual Analyzer, HOLMimpulse and RTA will get you started.

I love Wave Spectra but it is just a RTA and Wave gen is a very good generator as well they can be found here,

Note, The Link got moved!! 🙁
You may be able to find it if you search hard enough.
I have compiled a lists of such programs several times before, Sorry that I don't have a particular link for you at this time.
Here is one I have found,

I don't use any weighting at all.
Just make sure you enter in the calibration curve for your microphone if you have it.
Cheers!!!

P.S. This will help you get started as well,

Hi Gerald, great stuff thanks a lot. I though no weighting would be the way to go but it's good to hear that confirmed from someone that knows what he's doing. I have my calibration file loaded and it all works great on my iPhone. I'll go through your links and get testing!!
Cheers,
Pat
