Hi
The rectifier tube GZ34s for this amp has shorted. Can I use IN4007 diodes as rectifier to replace the tube.
Thanks

You could but the HT will rise but the main smoothing is rated at 525volts so should be OK.
Why not fit a new GZ34 or 5U4, keeps it original.

Yes, I think I will source for a new GZ34.
Thanks

Wise choice, else you'll change the tones.
I notice the original rectifier valve was a 5U4G. The anode current is slightly higher with the 5U4 but it is directly heated (a bright emitter) so will provide HT slightly quicker than the GZ34. Otherwise they are similar and are interchangeable.
The 5AR4 is a nice substitute as well.
