Hi ,
I just built a set of Lancet boxes for my Fostex Fe108e∑ . Thanks Dave for the planset. So far I haven't got much bass ,but I filled the front half with stuffing which improved it heaps. I poked some more through the port on the rear while they were playing ,that helped. The drivers are broken in . I used 18mm marine ply and made some stands to lean them back 5 degrees. Any thoughts on more bass?

Leak paths in designs with internal baffles are an LF killer so that may be a potential issue. Damping attenuates enclosure output under normal conditions, but may block leakages which could explain the reported increase.
The speakers are better with higher output impedance amplifiers -and ultimately, there is the possibility you may be expecting too much. It's a small driver. Reasonable amount of travel if you set Xmax aside (with the Fostex units most people don't worry, as the overload is fairly progressive) but there's only so much it can do.

Hi Dave and Scott,
I checked for leaks with the stuffing out, seems ok, then I put in better acoustic stuffing ,this time about 40mm and they sounded better but average bass. I was going nuts trying to work it out. I gave up and moved them to the garage which has a concrete floor and is full of timber, I hooked them up to 6L6 SE amp and what a difference, good bass and sound . So they work in small spaces near the wall. Thanks.
