I am having a hard look at starting to pick up the parts for this build. I really want to try the SEOS waveguide and I am looking for a high efficiency two-way with a largish woofer.
I am looking for comments or criticisims on the design especially concerning the crossover and box tuning. I am a diehard fullrange fan but I am trying to broaden my horizons😱

I admittedly dont know much about crossover design ( Nasty things IMHO but a necessary evil) but it seems a bit over-complicated to me?
My other thought would be to pickup a MiniDSP 2x4 and have the ability to tweak.....

This may help you get a little more out of the pr300 as well as improving the impedance response, making crossover work a little easier. box is 16" wide x 15" deep and about 28" tall. Should be able to add horn on top in separate enclosure and have about 36-40" tall speaker with mid point between horn and woofer at about 32". Could look a lot like this, at least that is what I was thinking. THe TD12s goes even lower in a smaller enclosure. THe next best, LF wise in similar cabinet, is 3012LF

No. It is at the top of my list though. It has a very low MMS:BL ratio, which can be an indication of it being a " fast" driver. I am trying to decide between it and 1" waveguide or its bigger brother, the 15pr400 and 1.4" compression driver. Can't decide on horn. Either SEOS or H290c.

I believe most experts here would agree that a sealed box midrange design will have superior sound, especially on transients, when compared to a ported box. A well designed sealed box should have thick absorption material on the three inner walls to absorb the speaker cone rear wave.
Piano low A is 33Hz.
A Faital 12PR300 in a ported cabinet is -3db at 55-75Hz, and still needs a woofer.
A Faital 12PR300 in a sealed cabinet is -3db ~95-105Hz, and still needs a woofer.
Ported woofers require large cabinets for deep bass with low power amps.
MiniDSP equalized woofers can be put in modest volume cabinets with powerful amps.
The SEOS12 will need to be at 39"-42" for correct ear level optimization. A floor standing cabinet will have enough volume for sealed midbass plus a sealed woofer.
Cabinet edge diffraction control requires a 1.5" to 4" edge radius, or angled cuts. Hence a 12" midbass would favor a 18"-20" wide cabinet, which can also support a 15"-18" bottom woofer with acceptable reduced edge cuts at the low frequencies.

I follow your comments very closely. I have been on a hunt for the 12nmb420, but cannot find it. I really like the idea of one large sealed woofer covering 200/300-2K, but they are not many that can do it. I like the idea of as large a woofer as possible coving most of the vocal range. Using a 15" woofer and large compression driver forces crossing directly in the vocal range. The 15 pr400 woofer is one of the few that I have found that can play low and loud without going to 18". Any recommendations there. For the sealed 12", I have looked at 12pr300, 3012HO, 3010MB, 12nmb420. Even considered an 8", like 8pe21, 8fe200, and 8ndl51.
I have heard many things about the AE TD woofers, but i too often hear the comment that they sound best with a lot of power, as if they like to be pushed a little before showing their pedigree. At average SPL of 93dB and up, we wont be pushing beyond that a lot in a home enviroment.

I have heard many good things about SEOS. Just like Buzz it is also number 1 on my list after I finish my current projects: F5Turbo amplifier and Speedster TMM... The winter is building time!

I agree with this. My listening space is not very big and my plan was to augment the 12pr300 with a sub to fill in the lower registers.
I was drawn to the SEOS and DNA-360 for their efficiency and the controlled directivity. The 12PR300 is also quite efficient; I use mainly tube amps and dont normally listen very loud but I do value dynamic range capabilities.
I have had many fullrangers but I am trying to broaden my horizons; that said efficiency is of great importance to me and IME is the difference between a boring and "exciting" sounding driver regardless of power level.
My hope is that this combo of drivers will do the trick even at low volumes yet have the capability to crank it now and then😀
Both the 12pr300 and 3012 HO have fairly light comes and fairly strong motors. They both have good distortion numbers, with the 3012HO besting the TD12M down low. While the TD12M and 12nmb420 may best them both in extension, they are both high power woofers and I cannot help but think a coil designed to take up to 1000W is gonna want some power thrown at it. That being said, I would love to get my hands on the 12nmb420 simply because the response looks so good up high. It is definitely best used sealed as it does not do much down low.
Another really attractive combo is the B&C 8pe21 with a 1" driver on the Faital STH100 horn. That horn as almost perfectly linear directivity down to a 2k crossover with the 8pe21.
