I love the F2 clone when driving Coral Flat8A without filter. Thank you Mr. Pass for your generosity. But F2 does not match W3-871 that I have in a bass reflex floor stander. Too much bass and the high becomes too hot. This is undestandable since current source amp does lift the low and high level of fullrange speaker. May I know is W3-871 suitable at all for current source amp or can I add a compensation filter to make it sounds good with F2? I have make some search for this filter but can't find any. Pls help. 🙂
Regards.
Regards.
You will need to compensate. Start with a resistor at 15 ohms
or so in parallel with the speaker, lowering the value as low as
4 ohms until you get the bass control you want (if at all).
Then use an RC network to trim the top.

Thanks Mr. Pass for your suggestion. More question :
2) When lower value resistor is connected in parallel, would F2 behave more like a voltage source amplifier. Will it loose the benefit of a current source amp?
3) What is the minimum Zo of an amplifier to considered as current source amp?
Thanks again.
