am looking for an EV driver with a two inch diaphragm and a one inch exit. What is the difference between an EV DH2 with the cup removed and an EV DH2MT and an EV DH2AMT" I need a standard one inch screw on snout with a one inch exit ID. All DH2 variants seem to be the same basic magnet and diaphragm, with different "exit" (adapters/mounting) options.
Actual frequency response plots are quite similar, if not the same.
Remember they suggest their active equalization for flat response.

The DH2 has a nose cup (short or long) and it is a bolt on with a 1.94" throat. So is the DH2 simply an AMT with and additional expansion flange and a cup to cover the adapter up? Not sure if any of this will help but two things;
-EV made the dh3 which was a 1" threaded driver... I believe 2" diaphragm. Was normally used as a supertweeter, had higher cutoff and lower power handling, etc, maybe that will be something that will fit your needs?
-The "MT" was denoting manifold technology, and the reason they used the 1" screw was to screw 4 of those drivers onto a manifold which went onto a 2" exit horn (see MTH-4?) The screw arrangement was needed to get the spacing closer for mounting the drivers on the manifold. But I cant concretely substantiate they are exactly the same as the longer snouted models...
Thanks Airguitarchamp: yes the DH3 is a smaller diaphragm (1.25" dia.). I am looking for at least a two inch driver as I would like as low a crossover as possible so the DH1A is actually even more attractive from that point of view. Thanks a lot for your input. Have you considered the EV DH1506? That seems to meet all your criteria: 2" diaphragm, 1" throat (with 1-3/8-18 male threaded end), and can be crossed quite low: 500 Hz. min., 800 Hz. recommended. Overall, it specs out quite similar to DH1A (which has a 1.94" throat dia. b.t.w.). DH1506 seems to be quite a bit scarcer than DH1A; same goes for replacement diaphragms. I can send you a data sheet if you need.

W_oswald: thank you for your reply. Yes the DH 1506 is on the list but as you mentioned more DH2 than 1506 are available. There is also a DH 1506 HP (high performance) more rare still. The 1506 that you do see are more expensive. and it looks like the 1506 is just a little smoother but not by a lot.
I ended up buying a pair of DH1A a few days ago for a very good price. These are 3 inc diaphragms and yes your are correct nominal 2" exit actually 2.94" exit. How ever if you remove the nose cup extender you revert back to a 1.4" bolt on so you get some versatility there and lots of 1.4" horns to play with. These are monsters weighing in at 23.5 lbs each, that's a big tweeter.
For the kind of money that DH1506 and even clean DH2 go for I think I will keep an eye open for some used or perhaps even new Beyma drivers. Beyma have some very fine looking drivers with flat smooth and extremely extended response (both directions). For now I think that the DH1A will make a fine reference and I expect that when properly set up will prove very hard to beat. Bonus is that the EV parts are NA sourced and all the revenue even of used sales stays at home and I like that.
