ETI480 - is "factory" cooling enough?
As an addition to my previous post, I've replaced the power transistor and it works again. I run it at 38V in to 4 OHM, I gues that'll be just over 60W. It seems to run pretty hot. If anyone os familiar with the original kit, the transistors sit on L shaped aluminum mounting plate where on the skinny end the heat sinks gets mounted.
Looking at it I wonder if all the heat get suficiently transfered through that thin bend to the heat sink as oppose to direct heat sink mounting like with most amps.
Anyone had some heat problems using the original kit cooling idea?
Thanks Peter
