Hi everyone!
I am looking for an amplifier of about 2X250W on an 8 ohm load.
I currently have 2 choices: JB Systems CTWO450 (capable of 2X300w in 8 ohms) for 200 euros (sh, used for 12h) and a diy stereo IPA/AV/FET 400, all my by me for cca. 150 euros.
I need clarity and channel and frequency separation. I also like the bass clean, clear, not muddy with a powerful kick. For example a Technics SA-EX310 sound very well and a MC Crypt PA-5000MKII sounds like a big piece of ****.
Is the CTWO worth the difference? Or should I go with the fet? Or any other recommendation? Budget is about 150 euros.

Why don't you build a 50W amp and learn what you need to do to get the performance you require?
Then you can use your new knowledge to compare commercial designs and assess the compromises each has to get to a price you can afford.
Or, maybe decide you can do a better job, that has fewer compromises, at a somewhat higher cost
Or, maybe discover you don't need 250W !!!!!

Andrew, all due respect but i have built 3 amps 'till now, all class AB. One was 2X15w on 4 ohm, the other one 2X60w on 4 ohm and the last one 2X80w on 8 ohm (it wasn't capable of working with a 4 ohm load). Trust me, they all sounded good but they were not enough. This is why i am looking for an amp. The problem is that i have never worked or listened a class H amp, nor have i listened a JB Systems amp so this is why i asked you, the users of this forum, what your opinion is. Please do not tell people what to do without knowing their background.
Have a good day sir!
