Hi!
Last week I visited the german vacuum tube manufacturer ELROG. As you can imagine this was an exciting experience! I published a visit report with some photos on my blog:

Nice! Now they need to make proper voltage amplifier and driver with same filament type as 841's are very rare and 801A's etc. are getting really scarce....
Hi!
I discussed other tube types and rectifiers extensively with the owner of the company. First some money needs to come in from the sales of 211 and 845 tubes to finance new developments. I will stay in close contact with the company and already discussed the needs of the tube audio scene.
Best regards

Thomas -
Great write up. Very interesting. That must have been a very enjoyable visit. Some one of these years I'd like to build something with 211s.

Very nice photos.
The glass looks thicker than the usual sino big triode.
Also the 211 botle is bigger than the Elrog 845, which is good.
Looks a great sounding tube, hope they can made 805 top cap in the future.
Thanks for posting.

Hi!
The first prototypes were made with slimmer glass. To increase power dissipation capability the bottle diameter was increased. Both the 211 and 845 share the same glass.

On 6moons article it was Eu1600/pair for the 845 tube, seems a USA importer price.
In Euro Zone it would be lower.

Ask to Thomas. Not that expensive.
I guess if you bought a CAD 805 or something similar, spending few hundreds on a top notch tube won't be a problem.

Hi!
I visited over the weekend, so no production was in progress. The glass for the tubes comes from a german supplier, Schott AG.
When I visit again I will make photos from the actual production
