I am a beginner at this stuff. I have very old very transparent Allen and Heath Mixer that I would like to modify. It has no monitor matrix so I cut the channel strips from the outputs. I am gfoing to use the direct outs from the strips. I would like to use channel 11 and 12 for monitoring. It is diificult to get all of the pots on the EQ section exact so I want to cut pots from the circuit and solder in resistors. The pots are 100k ohm and I want to simulate "dead centre". I went to Radio shack who only had 47k ohm resistors. Any tips greatly appreciated
If tolerance is that critical, replace each pot with with 4 ea 100 K resistors in series-parallel.
But watch out for log taper pots! Make sure they are linear taper, by measuring their resistance at center detent.🙂
