Unfortunately I haven't a picture from this neon lamp, because it was already remooved.
This neon lamp is inside in the tubus (left side of the attached photo) of follow record player:
MICRO ƒŒƒR[ƒhƒvƒŒƒCƒ„[SOLID-5‚ÌŽd—l ƒ}ƒCƒNƒ¸‹@
The manufacturer of this neon strobe lamp was Elevam:
Welcome to Miyata Elevam Inc.
Unfortunately it was not an article from the standard range. It was a custom made version for Micro.
Perhaps in Japan such lamps are still available.
Not helpful are normally used neon lamps in turntables like the photo number 3 and 2.
The greatest similarity I note to the both last pictures from attachment - found by a great overview of such lamps

Mikro Seiki DD5
no Informations about this oversized neon lamp ?
The model DD5 (DD 5) uses also that lamp.
BTW - how many commonly additional keywords there are in english for such lamp for strobe applications in turntables/record-players?

"turntable neon strobe lamp" might be worth googling..
You might try Koji at EIFL and see if he can help you source the required lamp in Japan..

Thanks for the advice. I will ask there
typical sizes of standart neon bulbs for strobe applications by record player/turntable are very easy to find and looks like that:
Specs for Neon lamp/Neon Lamp - JIANGSU BRIGHT GROUP
and
ELEVAM corporation -Neon Lamp-
But not for the wanted oversized version from Elevam.
I have now find out additional news:
The Elevam model number of the wanted strobe light neon tube is follow: NL-72 (NL72, have a look to the attached PDF file) also used in the Technics turntable SL-1300 (SL1300) - maybe part No part No "SFDNNL78WM", but not sure in the moment.
about the URL
http://www.electricstuff.co.uk/neonlamp.html
there are showed more very special neon strope lights
BTW - the record player from Micro Seiki mentioned by post #1 is not the model 5. The right type number is "Solid Five" (Solid5, Solid 5)

Are there more terms in colloquial English (and also other languages like Spain, French, Russian or Italian) for the keywords "Neon Lamp", "Strobe Lamp" and "Neon Bulb" (for record player/turntable speed checking) ??
If I know the other terms therefore, I will try to find more about "Google" - Thank you for posting this informations.

Elevam NL-72
I'm looking for the same neon lamp for my Technics SL200 MKI (first generation). The MKII and above do not carry the same lamp.
I've enclosed a picture of the mentioned lamp and 2 pages of the service manual for my turntable. Look at page 7 and 8 you'll find an exploded view of the unit with corresponding part numbers at page 8. You'll see that the lamp comes has a one unit glued within it's shade/holder (item 6) and then comes what they call the holder (item 6-2). Which in my opinion is more like a decorative very thin aluminum shell cover than an holder.
To be able to get a picture of my lamp I had to cut open the white plastic holder which it was glued into it, then I manage to pull out the lamp.
So, after getting a negative anwser from Union Electronic Distributors from the state I turned to eBay with no luck either. I send an e-mail to EIFL in Japan after finding your post, they will probably get back to me this week.
As a last option we might need to purchase a complet used unit from eBay fro parts purposes only. Hope not to get to this point...🙁
Anyway I'll keep you posted on the outcome and please do the same.
Thanks,
Robert

Thank you for your advices and the attached PDF exploded view. The term here is "Strobo Illuminator" and the order code is "SFUM120-01A"
The manufacturer of the obsolete "NL-72"
Welcome to Miyata Elevam Inc.
is still exist.
Unfortunately I don't speak the japanese language (English is not popular in Japan). Perhaps a member from Japan can find out there for us (maybe by phone), which company has overtaken the manufacturing of this oversized neon lamps.
Many users are happy about this information.

also Sony's PS-8750 uses such a lamp (strobo illuminator), as to see by post #4 aboutthis same bulb is used in the Yamaha yp-800- I am looking for a source as well!
Strobo-Mörder??? - Phono - allgemein - Analog-Forum
At pos. 6 about
http://www.partstore.com/Model/Matsushita/Panasonic/SL1200.aspx
I read follow:
SFUM120-01E - ILLUMINATOR - $17.86
Availability: Currently out of stock but available as a Special order, Order Now
Condition: New (This item is an alternate to part #SFUM120-01A)
But I don't think, this is currently relevant.
Thus I am still looking for a successor, compatible in sizes.

It is also used in the JVC JL-B44.
I too am looking for a replacement. The strange thing is that if I touch the glass with my finger it works and I can't figure out why.

Try this: Take a few (4-5-6) turns of wire, enameled magnet wire # 18 up through 26, all light flexible stuff around the glass. Connect the other end of the wire to the chassis ground. Scrape th enamel or other insulation from the wire toget an electrical connection. Let us know if the lamp stays on without your touching the glass with your finger. Maybe it will maybe it won't

Thanks for the idea, I'm not sure where I can find enameled magnetic wire but I'll start asking around and I'll try it out when I find it.
I have heard, that this neon lamp is there still available, but I don't know exactly. Check out the exact part number from the service manual of this turntable and ask your local Yamaha service department for availability.this same bulb is used in the Yamaha yp-800- I am looking for a source as well!

there is an offer of such a neon lamp (for Micro Seiki's DDX-1000) Images I have save here.
Bui I think, this approach is more cheap:

Currently I am looking for oversized neon lamps in general (for background lighting).

Maybe a great flat lamp consist of a cluster with a great amount of this currently available small neon lamps - most used as single version in illuminated rocker switches - go to

Neon lamps in this kind are also well suited as a less obtrusive background lighting when listening to music.
Therefore, it would be interesting to know whether there are lamps where many small variants of this lamp are internally connected as arrays.
Must look very similar to the showed LED Flat illumination unit (Last image).
Thank you very much for an advice.
